Our director who holds things together has a passionate commitment to community ophthalmology and training young ophthalmologists. He is regularly called on to present topics of interest at various state, national and international ophthalmology conferences. He is also a pioneer who has regularly introduced world class surgical and diagnostic modalities in his routine practice and a rallying point for young ophthalmologist who wish to update themselves with the current practices in ophthalmology.
Everyone who has ever met him will remark that Dr. Mani is a silent personality. There is good reason for this as it is in direct contrast to his work in the operation theater which peaks volumes that his quiet unassuming demeanor never reveals. Our trainee testimonials are a living proof of Dr. Mani's abilities as a surgical trainer par excellence.
Our academic director is a distinguished and renowned corneal surgeon who was doing keratoplasties since the late 60's. and trabs since early 70's . He has worked in the humble OT's of the Tamil Nadu govt., and also in sophisticated hospitals abroad. He has written three books and has published over 40 papers. A constant source of inspiration to the spirit of devotion to work and sight to the blind, he also heads our eye bank.
An able teacher and an astute student herself, Dr. Priya heads our Glaucoma department. She has a constant stream of patients both old and new to whom she attends to in addition to her role as a surgical trainer where her calm manner is well appreciated by tense trainees.
She is our full time consultant at Arasan Eye Hospital – Karur. She is a dedicated ophthalmologist who has taken up the challenge of independent OPD responsibilities at our fledgling Hospital.
Our long term trainees are with us for a period of one year and are young budding ophthalmologist from diverse backgrounds. Their invaluable contribution makes the day to day running of our departments a breeze.
He is a well rounded ophthalmologist who is quite academically strong and has a special interest in medical retina.
He is an off-beat ophthalmologist who has special interests in information technology, research and management.
Besides being a Gold medalist in Ophthalmology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences – Karnataka, she is a lively personality who has special interests in occulo-plastics and cornea.
